New review service for immigration applications

We are aware that some UK and overseas immigration advisory firms have been advising on Isle of Man applications, presumably on the basis they consider themselves experienced in UK applications, and either do not know, or do not care, that the Isle of Man is not part of the UK. Isle of Man immigration rules, procedure and costs can be radically different from those that apply for the UK. These firms are not qualified or competent to advise on Isle of Man immigration applications.

Similarly, some relocation companies both in the Isle of Man and elsewhere advise on Isle of Man immigration applications without any qualifications or competence to do so. While the UK long ago took steps to regulate immigration advisers and protect the public, the Isle of Man has unfortunately not yet done so.

We regularly have to pick up the pieces and help people recover from errors these unqualified immigration advisers have made, in order where possible to avoid faulty applications being refused before it is too late, and to avoid additional costs and delays.

Sadly, often the damage has already been done and the visa has already been refused. Any refusal will likely need to be declared by them in future visa applications worldwide, for the rest of their lives.

Kinley Legal is now launching a new service, where for a fixed legal fee of GBP250 (plus VAT if applicable), we will check an application which has already been submitted, to help ensure that the application is not likely to be refused.

We will need to see:

  • your application form;
  • all of your supporting documents as uploaded with your application; and
  • evidence that you used an immigration adviser other than an Isle of Man law firm.

Once we have reviewed your application, we will write to you with our assessment and details of any action that we recommend be taken to avoid refusal. Where further action is required, for instance amending or resubmitting the application, Kinley Legal can separately help with this.

This service is not available for applications which have been prepared and submitted by qualified Isle of Man law firms, or for applications which have been prepared and submitted without using an immigration adviser. It is available for Worker, Business Migrant, British Ancestry, BN(O), partner and child applications.
