The Business Migrant (Innovator) route allows a person who has established or joined an Isle of Man business to obtain Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in as little as three years.

Direct access to Innovator is for established businesspeople with investment funds of at least GBP50,000 and the intention to create jobs in the Isle of Man. It is also possible to enter the Innovator route via the Start Up route, which allows up to two years in the Isle of Man to prove the concept of a new business before moving to Innovator.

A Kinley Legal Innovator client has recently been endorsed for ILR by the Isle of Man Government Department for Enterprise, having met all the requirements measured against the specifications of their endorsement, government policy and the Immigration Rules. These requirements include significant investment and working hands-on in their Isle of Man business, as well as creating multiple jobs in the Isle of Man economy and scaling up the business over time.

The Business Migrant (Innovator) route originally opened to applications in 2020, although due to the COVID-19 pandemic it was several months before people started to arrive in the Isle of Man on the route. Our client is the very first person to be endorsed for ILR in the Isle of Man and will now obtain ILR. This is a fantastic achievement, particularly given the rigorous review process the endorsement requires.
